Life Lesson 12: Love Your Life

To have a life you love, you must love the life you have.

I don't mean just the good stuff...I mean all of it. You must truly love it all.  I don't mean find the silver lining...I mean as is, messiness and all.

Pure love without conditions or judgements.

Can you find a space in which you can love that old car or the fact that you have to work at something you'd prefer not to work at or that you don't have the income you wish you had?

Can you find a space to love the peeling wallpaper or the stained sofa or the messiness of a painful divorce?

You must be able to love it all.  To honor it all.

Only then will you have a life you love.

beautiful skyWhat is it that you have been NOT loving in your life?  What can you do to eliminate it or bring it into a space of love?

  1. I have been not loving my job. This is good advice, Michele. Loving the yin - the negative spaces!

  3. Love this post Michele! :) There are gifts in every aspect of our lives that we often don't see. We think that the gift or the lesson is only in the "good stuff" but so often it is just the opposite! Our greatest blessings our found in the trials and adversity! XO

  4. I have not been loving my knee pain. I could list the many reasons I think it negatively impacts my life BUT my knee pain forces me to slow down. It keeps me from taking a job I do not want and keeps me focused in my body often during the day. Thanks Michele. I feel better for acknowledging this!

  7. I'm with Amy - my job is just a necessary - I tolerate it mostly. But in thinking I have to love it because it has given me opportunities I would never have had, like travelling - and now I've been here long enough - it gives me the time off to pursue what I really want (i get over 6 weeks vacation a year - plus the week between Christmas and New Years) - so I have to love that and remember it when I'm working those crazy deadlines!

  9. I've been working on loving my job and loving my body as it is. I've come to love other messy things, so I agree with what you've said and I know the power of it.

  13. It seems so simple doesn't it? Yet a challenge to most of us. I guess I fit in with some of the other creatives here in saying that I don't love my day job and I yearn for more time to expand my creative adventures.

  14. I know...it should be simple but it is a challenge. Practice is all I can say :)
